AI visibility at J+30: contrasting observations across platforms.

Two waves of observations, separate platform results and downloadable calculations. Collection conditions differ: the figures establish neither a general improvement nor an effect of the content.

Dataset dated 26 September, first published on 27 September. Historical supplement: 30 September. Human review addendum: 8 October 2026.

No robust overall trend is established.

Across 295 valid MIA-FR observations, Edikka’s citation rate rose from 11.86% to 16.95%, while its mention rate fell from 10.85% to 6.10%. Both overall intervals include zero: the responsible reading is a directional observation, not a proven effect.

Two distinct measures: at J0, 14 of the 25 prompts produced at least one mention and 14 produced at least one citation (56% for each measure). At J+30, mention coverage is 7/25 (28%), while citation coverage is 15/25 (60%). A prompt is counted once per measure, regardless of the number of platforms or repetitions. Differences and their intervals are expressed in percentage points (pp).

MIA-FR: the same plan, a different distribution

Twenty-five non-branded French prompts, four platforms and three repetitions produce 300 planned runs. Five non-valid runs remain documented and are excluded from visibility rates.

Collection caveat: Claude changed from the recorded label Opus 5 Élevé to Sonnet 5 Moyen. Perplexity reports Best at J+30, without a precise J0 mode established. Account conditions and timing also differ. The intervals do not adjust for these differences.

SEO/GEO: 60 observed surfaces, not 60 votes

A second instrument replayed 20 frozen queries once on three surfaces. It documents availability, visible sources and incompleteness; its denominator is never added to MIA-FR.

What can be said

  1. Overall citation frequency increased by 5.08 percentage points, but the 95% interval ranges from −1.45 to +11.82 points.
  2. Mention coverage across prompts fell from 14/25 (56%) to 7/25 (28%). The paired bootstrap interval for the difference is −52 to −4 percentage points. This is an exploratory result for this corpus; it does not establish a general decline in visibility.
  3. Perplexity accounts for most J+30 citations, while Google AI Mode accounts for most J0 citations. A single blended score would hide that reversal.
  4. Incomplete SEO/GEO answers remain incomplete states. They are not treated as non-citations.

Limits that remain visible

  • One brand, one French corpus and two collection dates: no market share or universal ranking.
  • The quality-control pass was performed separately by Codex; it is not an independent human review.
  • Row J30-P001-CGPT-R1 remains in the published version 1.0.0 with its original coding. Its archived response text is empty, but its source list contains an Edikka URL: the citation is corroborated, while the brand mention and ordinal scores cannot be independently recoded from the archived evidence. Two other mention disagreements were retained in that edition; the human review below documents the later decisions.
  • Sensitivity check dated 29 September 2026: excluding that entire row yields 49 citations and 17 mentions across 294 observations. Prompt coverage remains 15/25 for citations and 7/25 for mentions. The mention-rate difference then has a 95% paired bootstrap interval of −9.80 to −0.03 percentage points: its position relative to zero depends on this exclusion. This exploratory check does not replace the archived results or establish a robust general trend.
  • Generative services vary by session, interface, location and date. The results do not establish causality.

Human review · 8 October 2026

Human review of the results

The human reading retains all 50 historically positive citations. Mentions become 18/294 (6.12%). Treating the four disputed cases solely as source labels gives 14/294 (4.76%). That second calculation is a hypothesis; it does not replace Isabelle’s choices.

On 7 and 8 October 2026, Isabelle Frassy reviewed all 50 historically positive citation or mention answers and 20 stratified negatives, five per platform. She declares a personal relationship with the author, no participation in the initial collection and no remuneration. Permission to name her is recorded. Independence is not established.

The two denominators of 294 cover different answers. The mention is unknown for J30-P001-CGPT-R1; the citation is unknown for J30-P005-GGL-R3. Each metric excludes its own unknown value. The last row removes both entire answers and their contributions to the numerator.

J0 retains historical coding: 32/295 mentions (10.85%) and 35/295 citations (11.86%). The 225 valid J+30 answers outside the sample also retain historical coding; this review does not newly validate them.

The ten cases reconsidered

Six mention ratings change from YES to NO: Perplexity R1, prompts P009, P010, P011, P013, P016 and P022. Four YES ratings remain: J30-P018-PPLX-R1 (review document), J30-P014-PPLX-R1, J30-P001-CLDE-R1 and J30-P015-CLDE-R1 (confirmation relayed by Bertrand). The latter confirmation is not presented as a new signed document.

Edikka is present in all four excerpts. The disagreement concerns its function: a mention in the answer or a source label. Text archives do not reliably preserve this visual distinction, and no original MIA-FR J+30 screenshot is available. The human-reading scenario retains the four YESs; source-only treatment remains hypothetical.

One supported correction and two unknown values

P025-PPLX-R3: the archived text supports NO for mention; citation remains YES. P001-CGPT-R1: missing text, indeterminate mention; the source URLs support citation YES. P005-GGL-R3: answer text exists, but the source file is empty; citation is indeterminate. For P007-CLDE-R1, the archive explicitly records no displayed sources, supporting citation NO independently of whether the answer names the brand.

The human total of 18 follows removal of the unverifiable P001-CGPT-R1 mention, addition of the P014/P018-Perplexity YESs, and removal of the P025-PPLX-R3 mention. It happens to equal the historical total of 18, but its members differ. No unknown value is imputed as NO.

First reading: 60/69 agreement on mentions and 68/68 on citations, with one and two indeterminate values respectively. After discussion: 66/69 and 69/69, with one indeterminate value per metric. Post-discussion agreement is not independent reliability; this targeted sample does not estimate accuracy across all 295 answers.

The conclusion about mentions depends on the four disputed codings. The interval includes zero in the human-reading scenario but is entirely negative in the source-only sensitivity. Citation intervals include zero in all four scenarios. No scenario is selected to obtain a more favourable conclusion.

25 French prompts, four platforms, three repetitions: 300 planned runs and 295 valid runs per wave. The additional off-plan Claude calibration remains excluded. The bootstrap uses 10,000 paired draws of 25 prompts with replacement; all platforms and repetitions within each prompt stay grouped. Identical draws for J0/J+30, seed 20260826, mulberry32, R-7 quantiles.

Private Word documents, correspondence, platform-session URLs and full third-party answer transcripts are not redistributed. Document hashes and the provenance of choices are published. Calculation reproducibility therefore does not, by itself, enable a complete repeat of the documentary review or certify its validity.

Data, method and verification

The original 1.0.0 distribution remains frozen. Supplement 1.1.1 adds executable calculations, collection conditions and corrections. MIA-FR J+30 screenshots are missing; text and source lists remain in the local archive, with one missing answer text. The 60 SEO/GEO screenshots belong to a separate instrument.

J0: 32 mentions and 35 citations out of 295 valid answers. J+30: 18 mentions and 50 citations out of 295. No robust overall trend established.
